🌱 Getting started with StillMode
Allow Screen Time, put up your first shield and read your day.
1. Allow Screen Time access
StillMode uses Apple's Screen Time technology (Family Controls) to keep apps quiet. During setup iOS asks for permission: tap Continue and confirm with Face ID or your passcode. If you skipped it, StillMode asks again the first time you make a shield.
Apple never shows us which apps you use or what you do in them. The apps you pick are saved as anonymous tokens only iOS can read.
2. Put up a shield
Tap + New shield on the Today or Shields tab and choose how it should work:
- Focus now shields the apps you pick straight away, for as long as you choose.
- On a schedule keeps them quiet during set hours and days, like 9 to 5 on weekdays, or all day.
- Lock an app keeps an app closed and allows a few visits a day.
- Daily limit gives you a time budget (say 30 min), then shields the apps until midnight.
- Earn with habits (StillMode Plus) opens apps as you finish habits like a walk or a few pages of reading.
Pick apps, categories or websites, set the hours, then tap Start focus or Turn on. Prefer a head start? Open Shields › Presets and tap Browse all for the Preset library.
3. Breaks
Any shield can allow a few short breaks a day. Choose what comes first: A short pause (a calm countdown), Say why (write what you're opening it for), Type a code (copy a random code) or Nothing. When you open a shielded app, tap Take a break on the pause screen and StillMode guides you from there.
4. Read your day
The Today tab shows your screen time against your daily goal, an hour-by-hour chart and the apps you used most. Tap the date to look back, and ••• to change your goal and reminders.
