🚨 Emergency unlock

How to lift Lockdown when something urgent comes up.

Emergency unlock is the safety valve for Lockdown. It lives entirely inside the app, so it works even offline.

How it works

  1. Open StillMode and go to You › ••• (Settings) › Help › Emergency unlock.
  2. Type the sentence shown on screen exactly, then start the wait.
  3. Wait 10 minutes. The pause is on purpose: many urges fade in that time. You can cancel whenever you like.
  4. After the wait, Lockdown lifts for 1 hour. You can change, pause or remove locked shields, or sign out.
  5. When the hour ends (or when you turn Lockdown back on yourself), your shields are held again.
Emergency unlock doesn't remove anything on its own. During the hour, change only what you need, like pausing the one shield in your way.

In a real emergency

Phone calls and Emergency SOS always work. iOS never lets StillMode shield them.
